Q&A

What was the most common reason for speaking? Repeating the phonics sound, saying the blending sounds, and answering open question like who like smoothie.

What was the least common reason for speaking?  The classroom work as a whole class so it was hard to find students who repeat the words as a group or individual. Students answer each other using Arabic instead of English, however, they talked to their teacher using English.

Were there any boxes that had no ticks? Yes, box 2, 3,7 as I said students work as a whole class during carpet time. And they prefer talking in Arabic because it's their native language and they feel comfortable using it.

How much of the lesson was taken up by the teacher using ‘Teacher Talk’, in your opinion? I don’t think their was a lot of teacher talk.

Do you feel it was too much / too little / just the right amount of talk? Explain your opinion I think it is the right amount cause the students know that they put their bag in the right place and then set in the carpet so the lesson could start.

What do you think is an appropriate sequence of interaction patterns?  I think the proper interaction is when the students interact during the lesson.

Now consider how much Arabic was used. Do you think it was used appropriately? Why? / Why not? Explain your opinion? There wasn’t a lot of Arabic from the teacher and the students. I think it was used appropriately cause it’s an English class after all, and the students have to speak English so they could develop their language.
